I am a Breastfeeding Specialist, a Baby-Led Sleep and Wellbeing Specialist, and a mother to two amazing boys. My experiences as a new young mom were immensely difficult when it came to feeding and sleeping. My firstborn did not sleep well until after he turned two, due to underlying health issues. Unfortunately, no one in my life at the time knew how to offer support that preserved my own sanity, AND that nurtured my baby’s attachment and emotional well-being. I got either-or advice… sleep train or suffer… meet his needs OR mine. I wish I could have received accurate information about biologically normal infant sleep, help understanding the cause of his sleeplessness, encouragement, and practical guidance for nurturing a tiny human all day and night. I now have the incredible joy of offering this kind of support to families. I believe that, while I might have a lot of education on infant feeding and sleep, parents are the absolute experts on their unique baby and on themselves! I also believe that during vulnerable seasons of life, our primary need is not to be rescued from the difficulties we face, but rather, to be empowered through them. Parents need to be in the “driver’s seat” of their journey, to be equipped to discover solutions that work for them, to be supported in following their instincts, and most importantly, to not be alone in the process.
