The First Thirty Days

How to bring a nanny into your family so your baby can actually hold on to her.

You have a date. Somewhere in the next few weeks or months you are going back to work, and somebody else is going to look after your baby.

Free No spam, and I never share your details.

Most of the advice you will find about this is about you: how to feel about it, how to manage the guilt, how to pump at work.

This is about what happens to him, and what you can do about it.

Inside the guide

What is in it

  1. What is actually happening when you go back to work, which is not a baby getting used to a new person
  2. The first meeting, and why a good nanny will not go to your baby
  3. A week-by-week plan for the month before you go back, which you can hand straight to whoever you hire
  4. The two things to set up in advance that take five minutes and make a real difference
  5. One thing you may be planning to do that I would not do
  6. What to do if there is no time for any of it
  7. And why he falls apart the moment you walk in the door, which almost everybody misreads

From the guide

He did not fall apart because you came home. He fell apart because you came home. He held everything together all day, and you are the person he is safe enough to put it down with.

Meet Lauren

Who I am

I am Lauren Weber. I am an early childhood educator and I have spent thirteen years working with families on infant sleep and attachment. I train sleep coaches worldwide through the Baby-Led Sleep and Well-Being Specialist Certification, and I built Isla Grace because the transition back to work is the moment families are most frightened and least supported.

For nannies

I am also building a training course for nannies in this approach. If you would like to know when it opens, email me at [email protected].

Isla Grace places trained caregivers with families in Ontario and the western GTA, and trains nannies worldwide in attachment-based care.
